Rules and Conditions
- All birds must be penned by 10 am
- No substitution of entries permitted
- Judging commences at 11 am
- Access to the judging area is restricted to the judge(s) and steward(s)
- It is a condition of Entry that no bird may be removed before 4.30pm and must be removed before 5.30pm
- It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to enter the exhibit(s) in the correct class(es)
- The breed of each bird must be given on the entry form
- Where 3 or more birds of one breed are entered in a class, a separate class may be arranged at the discretion of the judge(s)/steward(s)
- Where there are fewer than 3 entries in a class, the class may be combined with another related class at the discretion of the judge(s)/steward(s)
- Eggs must be displayed on plates provided by the stewards on the show day

Entry Fee - To Qualifying Show €3. To Final €6
RULES AND CONDITIONS
1. The Bantam final is open to all breeds of True & Rare True Bantam Breeding Pairs i.e. Belgian, Dutch, Japanese, Pekin, Rosecomb, Sebright, Booted, Nankin & Ohiki.
2. No more than two pairs from each qualifying show will be eligible to compete in the final.
3. Individual competitors may qualify no more than one pair for the final.
4. Chickens qualifying for entry in the final may not be entered in any other classes at Swinford Show.
5. The chickens must be penned in the cages provided at the show grounds by 10.30am.
6. Winners to be announced at 2pm
7. These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules and Swinford Agricultural Show Rules.
8. No bedding allowed in show cages
9. Exhibitors must be owners and be present at the final.
Final:Swinford Agricultural Show 24th Aug 2025
No entries permitted on day of event.
Overall Champion will receive the Monaghan Poultry Fanciers’ Shield
Overall Reserve Champion will receive the Eric Montgomery Memorial Shield
Cup for the Best Local Exhibitor (from County Monaghan)
